It’s been a while now since I’ve made a new running playlist and I could definitely use some fresh motivation to get in my 3 runs a week this month. I spent some time yesterday putting together a brand new playlist and it’s been appropriately dubbed the “I’d Rather Not Be Running” Playlist. Because running.
When it comes to running I don’t really pay any attention to beats per minute (or BPM – although it is fun when your steps match the beat, haha) but I have included those numbers here if you’re looking for ideas in a specific range. My preferred playlist style has always just been listening to songs I love – songs that inspire or just pump me up. If my steps match the beat at any time it’s just an added bonus.
So without further ado, I present to you…
I’d Rather Not Be Running Playlist
This playlist is heavy on the rock/alternative genre which is pretty typical for me. Aaaaaaand you might be able to tell that I really love Fall Out Boy. Their songs are the best for running! I actually just heard “Immortals” for the first time last weekend while watching Big Hero 6 with the fam. Such a cute movie.

This is a great playlist!! I have been listening to the same one on Songza for months because I lack musical inspiration lol. I need to get Spotify and start making better ones with some of these songs!

Yes! Make a new playlist to celebrate spring! (who knows when it’ll show up but at least you’ll be ready) ;)
