Happy New Year!
We rang in the new year watching the ball drop on TV with the kids. We watched the Justin Bieber performances and Gangnam Style three times each I think. It was so fun!
This time of year is when a lot of people decide they want to make some positive changes. One of the most popular changes is to get fit, lose weight, etc. One awesome way to get motivated is to join a friendly fitness challenge! I’ve hosted several of these myself on Facebook but this month I’m trying out DietBet.
Basically, you sign up for a DietBet account (you can use your Facebook account or just an e-mail address) and then you join a “game”! Each game has a bet amount that all participants must pay that gets added to the “pot”. At the end of 4 weeks, all players who have successfully lost at least 4% of their body weight get to split that pot! Even if everybody succeeded, you are guaranteed to receive your original bet amount back.
4% of your body weight isn’t tough to lose in 4 weeks at all – it’s TOTALLY DOABLE!!

The only problem I’m having is that the website is a bit slow right now. I’m certain that’s because it’s pretty new and has exploded right now because of it being the new year and all.
Quick Overview of Steps to Take:
- Join the game!
- Submit starting weight and photos 1-2 days prior to start date (mine starts Mon. Jan. 7th) *Nobody will see your photos or your weight – players will only be able to see progress numbers.
- Eat healthy and workout regularly for 28 days
- Lose 4% of your starting weight and split the pot with others who do the same!
