This is a quick post I just had to write after the comments and emails I received after posting about my personal certification test. Many of you were surprised that I posted about my failure but I think it’s important to be honest – especially when it comes to fitness. It was easily the toughest blog post I had to write because when I found out I failed, I felt like I let my readers down. There are so many gimmicks and crap out there already…I don’t want to be a part of that!
I know some of you are currently studying for personal trainer certification so I also wanted to offer some insight after my experience testing for the first time.
The NCSF CPT test has a 65% first-time pass rate. So I know I’m not alone. I can appreciate the high standards that they uphold for wannabe personal trainers. It’ll mean that much more when I DO pass.
With that said…I just want to thank YOU for your supportive comments and messages. I do plan on re-taking the test and I’m confident I’ll do much better than I did the first time. And personally, I’d rather pass with a good score than barely scrape by. I just need to work on a couple of things a bit harder. Studying with 4 kids around is interesting, particularly when it’s something so technical. Concentration can be hard to come by. We could have a study group session if only they were all old enough to read. ;)

(I made this myself!)
I’ll get there! And when I do, I’ll be posting here FIRST!
Take Care and thank you again for your support,
Melinda
