Happy Wednesday, friends!
Today is a great day to be in Minnesota.
Why?
Check out the forecast for today:
All of the local news channels were reporting this morning that it’s been 180 DAYS since we’ve seen 70!
Sad, right?
To get ready for warmer weather and tank tops!, I found a new-to-me workout for arms today:
Arms & Core Workout
*Directions: Repeat twice through using dumbbells with a weight of your choice.
This workout was a good one. I did this workout as a circuit, only resting for about 1 minute at the very end and my arms feel all kinds of tired right about now! I loved this one because it incorporated core moves as well which ended up being various plank exercises. I tend to lack the discipline to train my core specifically even though I know it’s so important, so I like to sneak it in to other workouts and this one fit the bill.
Since I promised myself the other day that I’d do high-intensity cardio after all strength workouts for 30 days, I decided to keep it simple today and do a treadmill HIIT workout. It’s my “H” day for the April A to Z Challenge so it’s fitting.
Treadmill HIIT Workout
- Warm up 3 minutes @ 3mph
- 30 second sprint/90 second recovery
- Repeat for 20 minutes
- Cool down 5 minutes
Total time: ~ 28 minutes
You can easily change up treadmill HIIT workouts to suit your fancy. My favorite sprint/recovery ratio is 1:3 or 1:2. For a super challenge, try 1:1!
Now I must go feed my belly. It’s yelling at me!
I hope you’re having a fabulous Wednesday!
