Hi you! I hope you’re having a good Tuesday so far. Can you tell today is letter “F” for the A to Z Challenge?
If the title wasn’t a big enough hint, maybe my breakfast is:
Just kidding. It isn’t at all. Haha! It was delicious though.
I had way too much fun coming up with the fun fitness finds list I’m about to share with you. Some fitness equipment, apparel and accessories can be pretty spendy but I wanted to highlight some fun ones that are a little easier to snag on a budget.
Fun Fitness Finds Under $50
- Moving Comfort Sports Bra
Moving Comfort is easily in my top 3 brands for sports bras. They have all kinds of different styles and sizing to accommodate a variety of body types and physical activity levels. I also love C9 sports bras from Target and the sports bra from Victoria’s Secret that closes in the front.
- DIY Plyo Boxes
Roger made these boxes for us a couple years ago and we love ’em! Don’t let the pic fool you, melindasfitnessblog.com is ME! Click on the link, you’ll see. :) We were able to make TWO of these for less than $50. You can see the tutorial I posted here. I promise these were super simple to make. If you aren’t real crafty with wood you can definitely buy plyo boxes but they tend to be pretty expensive.
- Bodylastics Resistance Bands Set
We purchased a set of these quite a while ago and they are still in amazing condition. The quality is excellent. Resistance bands are perfect for traveling, being able to do a variety of other exercises and they’re great for small spaces too. We have the heaviest set of Bodylastics (404 pounds of resistance) but there are 3 options under $50 including 142 pounds, 96 pounds and 58 pounds of resistance.
- Workout Journal
Tracking progress is always a good idea and you can do this with a fitbook or any other type of journal you like! You can even make yourself a journal by using a regular notebook and creating a type of vision board on the cover or something. Similar to this little gem I made wayyyyy back in 2012.
- Water Bottles
It’s impossible to have too many water bottles right??! I love the CamelBak’s but this owl one is pretty cute!
- CrossFit WOD Book
If you love cross training, you’ll appreciate this book. This was a Christmas gift that I got for Roger last year and we both love it. There are workouts inside that cover everything from beginners to advanced, benchmark workouts (the Girls and the Hero WODs), bodyweight workouts, running WODs (*cough *cough *barf) and more.
- Single DVDs
If you love Beachbody workouts, or want to try them without committing to a full program, they have workouts that you can buy from each trainer. Many of them are upgrades of a specific workout program but you don’t have to do the program in order to do them. You can find workouts from Autumn Calabrese, Shaun T (of Insanity), Chalene Johnson, Sagi Kalev and more. A cheaper alternative to a full program and an easy way to switch up your workouts!
- Cute Workout Tanks
Workouts are always more fun in cute clothes!
Here are some favorites that I’ve recently spotted:
From Etsy Seller Shirt Market
From Etsy Seller BellaDesignsStl
- Fun Socks
Roger and I both have a few pairs of socks from Sox Box. They’re made in the U.S.A. and 20% of the proceeds go to The Independence Fund for wounded U.S. Military veterans. One size fits most and they have kids socks too!
- Demonbell (or any kettlebell)
Roger and the kids gave me a Demonbell for Mother’s Day a couple years ago and I love it! I like it better than my regular kettlebell because of how it’s designed. This is a bit steeper than $50 but still close at $59.99 + shipping. Normal kettlebells are cheaper but Demonbells also make for a fun display item in your workout space when not in use!
If that’s more than you’d like to spend right now (or ever, lol) you can always opt for the mini version:
It’s a keychain!
- Workout Headbands
I’m not much of a headband lady but these ones from HippieRunner.com are awesome! I do like headbands but for some reason they always give me headaches. Maybe these won’t? It could be worth a shot. I’d definitely like some encouragement a la operation shrink-a-bootie.
