Have you ever heard of the site Daydreaming on Paper? They have a “Prompts Page” on their site that I really like. Every time you visit the URL of the Prompts Page, a random inspiration pops up for you. This is a really great tool for those who like to write or maybe just need something to really think about. It’s entirely random and part of this post comes from the inspiration I received on my visit to that site this morning.
10 Things I Can’t Live Without
*For my list of 10 things, I am leaving out the obvious ones like food, family, toilets, toilet paper, etc.
*Sweatpants. There was a time I had more pairs of jeans than sweatpants. That is no longer true. I have so many pairs of sweatpants I have to hang some up in our closet because they just don’t fit in my drawers. Most of my thanks go to Victoria’s Secret.
*Hoodies. I shouldn’t even have to explain this, right?
*Tank Tops. The men’s “A-Shirts” (also known as “wifebeaters”) are my favorite kind. I wear these under my hoodies while wearing sweatpants. :) I also like colorful, basic, spaghetti strap ones from Target, VS, Wet Seal, etc.
*Nail Polish. I’m not much of a girly girl but I do love painting my fingers and toes. I like to keep them short and painted with fun colors and patterns.
*Ponytail. I could never do a workout without using a ponytail. I don’t know how some people with long hair can leave it down but I just can’t. I <3 messy buns!!
*Resistance. At first when I thought of resistance, I meant weights. Like dumbbells, plates, etc. But I realized that I also couldn’t live without some resistance in life. If there were no resistance, it’d be too easy. I wouldn’t be challenged and there would never be a sense of accomplishment. Talk about sucky. I don’t wanna live without resistance.
*Water. I understand that water is necessary to live, but I just crave it. I’ve never been much of a pop/soda/coffee drinker; I just prefer water. I carry a water bottle around with me everywhere and am constantly refilling it. I bring it to work, it follows me around the house and I even bring it in the car when I’m running around.
*Books. I love to read so I have to have books on this list! I’m a college girl now and I really don’t have much time to read, but I still try to fit it in. I just recently realized that my collection of “Celebrity” memoirs is growing quite nicely. Memoirs are my favorite reads and I guess it’s because I find it really interesting to know more of the inside story of famous people. I can read through these books the fastest of any type of book so they’ll fit in nicely with school.
I recently read, “Off Balance” and I have three others pre-ordered on Amazon right now. Well, two are memoirs, one is not.
- Drinking and Tweeting: And Other Brandi Blunders (I’m not even a fan of any of the Real Housewives.
- This Is Gonna Hurt: Music, Photography and Life Through the Distorted Lens of Nikki Sixx
- The Lords of Salem by Rob Zombie (I pre-ordered this for Roger but definitely plan on reading it myself)
*Fan. I sleep with a fan on YEAR ROUND. If it’s not on, I can’t sleep. Tonight it’s supposed to get down below zero and I will still have my fan on. It helps me sleep because I won’t hear if somebody breaks into my house and tries to kill me. Fan on + Blanket on = safety! HA!
*Pets. I can’t even remember a time I didn’t live with a pet. I’m not sure it’s ever occurred and I can’t imagine it. We have two dogs and a kitty and I love their company.

Filthy Fifty Workout
Yesterday Roger and I did a CrossFit WOD together and it was pretty tough – especially since we haven’t been doing CrossFit workouts lately. I’ve still been working out at least every other day but Combat is just not feeling like enough. I LOVE the actual Combat workouts but I was looking for something different yesterday. {I do add some Les Mills Pump workouts in with Combat to get more strength training in, but I don’t always have time for a 30-60 Combat workout + another 30-55 minute strength workout.} Soooo…we decided to do the Filthy Fifty workout that was the WOD at CrossFit Mamas yesterday.
50 Jump rope
50 Burpees
50 Wall ball shots, 10 pound ball (we subbed thrusters)
50 Back extensions (supermans)
50 Push press, 20 pounds
50 Knees to elbows
50 Walking Lunges (50 steps)
50 Kettlebell swings, 15 lbs
50 Crossfit sit-ups
I think we might try doing the Deck of Cards Workout and this Filthy Fifty workout once a week together. We haven’t really been working out together at all lately because our current programs are different but it’s been really fun to do something together. It almost feels like a date!
