Take THAT push-ups! I did all the push-ups required today and then some. My basement quickly turned into a dance floor following that workout because I was so excited! Just the other day I was feeling sooooooo frustrated because I’ve been trying to tackle this hundred push-ups challenge and frankly, it’s been kicking my ass. I suppose that’s a good thing!
So here’s the hundred push-ups challenge workout Week 3, Day 1: (ROUND 6!)
- 17 (I did 20!)
What helped me through:
I changed just a couple things and I know those changes made all the difference. I mainly followed the tips in this article written by me, “3 Tips for Creating More Energy in Your Day to Day Life” (published on the Premier Nutrition Blog) along with a few other specific things.
- I ate. Well, I always eat. But today I ate and then only waited about 30 minutes until I started. I typically wait closer to an hour after eating before doing any resistance training. That is going to change. I need to be more disciplined about this.
- I asked my kids to stay upstairs. Normally I’m all for my kids watching me workout and getting into some of the equipment themselves but I really wanted to focus today. They weren’t happy about not being able to “workout with mom” but I told him it’d be just 5 quick minutes and they understood. Thank you Spongebob Squarepants for your help!
- Doing the workout so many times already. Lol!
- Shinedown. “Devour” is my song right now. I waited until my last set to start it up and I had goosebumps within seconds. Do you have a song that pumps you up? That’s the one to listen to when you’re being super challenged!
Oh yeah, and when I was done I did a light jog @ 10% incline for 20 minutes. I’ve been on a roll with cardio. GO ME.

Sunday morning bright and early I’ve got my first fun run of the summer which is the The Color Run 5K! This means I’ll be doing my push-ups later in the day. We’ll see what happens! You can bet there will be a blog post next week all about my Color Run experience – I can’t wait!!!
