Good morning, happy Monday! Where on Earth did the weekend go? Now that school is back in session it feels like the time is flying by even faster than it did over the summer. What gives?
Anyway, the weekend was very productive. For the first time in a long time, Roger and I worked out together on BOTH DAYS! We did morning workouts on both Saturday and Sunday before anything else could “get in the way”. It felt so good to have the workouts done first thing in the morning.
Sunday: Body Beast Bulk Arms
We both did pretty well with food too. The only exception was at the Vikings game yesterday. I don’t like getting up during sports events and stuff so we didn’t eat anything until after the game so you can imagine how starved we felt. We stopped at a gas station and picked up Godfather’s personal pizzas and shared a Dr. Pepper.
Better choices could’ve been made but that was basically our only “bad” meal for the entire week. I’m okay with indulging! It’s amazing how lean I look and feel on the mornings after eating a meal like that. It’s almost like my body took it in and burned it off as fast as it could. I was planning on taking a photo of our amazing meal but we both scarfed it down wayyyyy too fast.
The game was super fun though. Although, I forgot how difficult it is to see what’s going on when you’re at the games. I missed so many of the first few snaps because I didn’t even realize they were playing. Whoops.
For those who didn’t see, the Vikes are now 1-0. I’m gonna enjoy that while it lasts! It was nice to see AP get 2 touchdowns after making his comeback from last season’s injury. I went from being excited they were gonna win to feeling like vomiting because they almost lost it in the last seconds to being elated that they were able to come from behind and win in overtime. You can’t witness a game much better than that!
Anyway, on to the challenge!
I let the weekend get away from me and haven’t updated since Friday so I’m gonna bang out Days 8 and 9 in this post. They’re kind of related anyway so it works out pretty well.
Day 8: Favorite Exercise Types
When it comes to exercises, my favorite “type” is strength training. I’ve also recently really come to love circuit training and CrossFit workouts. I have a really hard time with cardio and I like that circuit training workouts allow you to do strength training and cardio in the same workout. It’s a really great workout style for people who are short on time. My favorite exercise DVD to date is definitely Les Mills Pump. I’ve always loved to lift heavy vs. performing so many reps but after trying LMP, I’ve realized that lifting to the tempo of music is so much fun! I can’t wait to “fight to music”.
Day 9: Favorite Exercises
When I think of my favorite exercises I tend to have a hard time to choose. I’m wondering if by favorite it means the exercises I enjoy doing most or the ones that are most effective? Effective exercises are my favorites too. Haha.
Either way, I would have to say that my top 5 favorite exercises in no particular order are:
I hope to add pull-ups to that list but I can’t even do one yet. I haven’t been focused on trying yet, but I will be.
