Last Friday (July 25th) was an exciting day in our household! Roger and I celebrated our 5th anniversary AND it was the first night of CrossFit Games. Roger is a big part of why my fitness journey and this blog exist. I know I make the final decisions as to what I wanna do, but he had a HUGE impact on my fitness interests. I’ve said it before but I’m not sure this blog would exist if it weren’t for him?
Anyway, while Roger was at work during the day on Friday I was home watching two of our boys along with our niece and two nephews. It was a busy day! After he got home we brought our youngest to my dad’s so we could go see Hercules in 3D.
This pretty much sums it all up:
Haha! I have no idea what kind of reviews it’s getting but I enjoyed it. It was entertaining to say the least. A lot more brutal than I was thinking though…I was so stressed out the entire time!
After the movie I was so tired from the events of the day (and the stress of the movie, lol!) we went home and had a few drinks together while watching the CrossFit Games. I’m not big into CrossFit. I like some of the workouts but it’s definitely not for me. Yet? I dunno. My husband likes it a lot of the time. Whether you like it or not I think watching the Games is HUGE motivation.
On Saturday we picked up Cayden from my dad’s and took him out to dinner with us at Red Robin. Yummmmmmmm! I had the Prime Rib Dip, Roger got the Colossus Burger and C got a corn dog. It was all SO good. After we got home we tuned into more CrossFit Games that night. I wish these were on more than just once a year.
On Sunday night it was time for the CrossFit Games Finals.
As soon as the female champ was known, I actually started crying because I was so happy for her!
2014 Reebok CrossFit Champs
I have been loving her since I first saw her competing a few years ago. I love watching her perform and I love listening to her talk. She’s amazing. I’m not really sure why I got so emotional when she won but I definitely did. Like, ugly girl cry status for a few seconds. You can tell she’s been working really, really hard!
Here’s a FB/Instagram post from yesterday morning that kind of sums all that up:
I thought it was really cool that Froning won for the 4th straight time too. We were cheering him on pretty good! I just read his book and he has a crazy work ethic. It’s very admirable. He reminds me a lot of my husband in so many ways. Froning and his wife found out just days before the CrossFit Games that they were going to be adopting a newborn baby girl together so watching him perform and seeing their story highlighted made me pretty emotional too.
Overall it was a really, really great weekend!
5 years down, forever to go ♡
