How’s your week been going so far? I just wanted to pop in quick and share a workout I made up on the fly earlier this week. Somehow, some way, those tend to be some of my favorites! No problem with flying by the seat of your pants once in a while, right? Sometimes I guess I just get sick of schedules and find it fun to make things up as I go along.
Keeping my personal burpee challenge in mind and my quest to run at least 3 days per week, I came up with something that caters to both while including some heavy lifting too.
If you give it a whirl, I hope you appreciate it as much as I did!
35 Minute Legs ‘n Lungs Workout
- Warm up
- 20 kettlebell swings (used my Demonbell)
- 50 weighted burpees (10# dumbbells)
- 3 squats every minute on the minute; for 10 minutes @ 75% of one rep max (75#)
- 50 weighted burpees
- 1 mile walk/run
- Cool down
Notes:
I did rest in between each move just long enough to recover.
I broke the 50 burpees into sets of 25.
*Rest and modify as needed!! I’m just sharing what I did.
When you’re done, you may have red face. Bask in that glow.
It means you did it right!

Since we’re talking about burpees, I thought it’d be a good idea for a burpee challenge update! Turns out this was a great idea because it showed me I’m a bit behind schedule, but I kiiiiinda already knew that.
*2,410 is my total as of 3/17/15.
I’m still proud of all the ones I’ve completed so far but I do need to ramp it up a bit. I didn’t get many in during February since I was doing 21 Day Fix Extreme. Those workouts always left me feeling dead and I’d conveniently forget all about burpees. Whoops!
I’ve gotten into a good groove this month and I’m hoping it stays that way. ;)
