Day 6: Favorite Music for Workouts – Mindi’s Playlist

There is no way I could do a workout without music. Listening to the music that you really love, music that really motivates you is one of the best things you can do for yourself during workouts. At least I think so! I know some people prefer quietness but I would go crazy.

My genre of choice is almost always rock. I throw in some pop and 80’s stuff here and there too.

Here’s an actual photo of my current playlist:

I use this playlist for everything right now. Workouts, driving, cleaning…everything!

Of course my playlist changes every now and then but I never completely change all the songs. I’ve always got a few favorites I hang onto from playlist to playlist. When I get sick of hearing something, I’ll get rid of it for a while and bring it back a few months later. It’s kind of surprising sometimes how long I can listen to the same songs.

Last winter I was really loving bands like Sixx: A.M., Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails and Disturbed. “Indestructible” is actually one of the very first songs I remember working out to.

Lately I’ve been loving Halestorm, Rise Against, Shinedown, Volbeat and Papa Roach.

You’ll never find too much pop or country on my workout playlists but I do like some stuff every once in a while. I tend to always like Rihanna, Nickelback (pop/rock I guess), Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga – mostly her older stuff.

Music is a must!

Q. What songs are on your playlist?

I am a hip-hop, pop and rock girl. Those genres really get me PUMPED! When I am doing cardio I really like the faster beats. When lifting, it has to be rock though. It makes you feel stronger!

P.S. I have never heard of Halestorm, so thanks for posting the video. I like the song!
